Functional Responsibilities
- Quality, quantity, waste amounts, safety of personnel and equipment, required maintenance reports, PM work orders and other documents or reports as required accurately and timely.
- May direct the work and training needs of the crew in a safe manner.
- Responsibility for maintenance, repair and trouble shooting of machines, equipment, facility and grounds.
- Responsible to assure oncoming shift has been communicated to add advised of all pertinent information regarding the machine, status of equipment and personnel and all support functions.
- Supports all mechanical functions.
- Preforms new installations, project work and developmental projects and is able to preform most electro-mechanical duties as required.
- Must perform any other duties, jobs, assignments, educational updating or other tasks as directed by manager.
- Assist in assuring HACCP, GMP's, Work Instructions, and Food Safety Quality system requirements (SQF) are in compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Graduate or GED, two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent tech. training.
- Must have 2-4 years experience in repair and upkeep of plant machinery to include electro-mechanical systems
- Must successfully pass written and hands-on tests or proven work experience/certification required for this position
Skills
- 2-4 years of proven, highly demonstrative proficiency in most aspects of Industrial Maintenance; i.e. electrical/instrumentation, mech, hyd, and pneu.
- Written and hands-on tests or proven experience/certifications will be required
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical components and equipment including use of specialty tools for troubleshooting, diagnostic and repairs.
- Must be able to work well at all levels of personnel, individually and team environment and with operators to interface and
- communicate troubleshooting and repair issues and problems.
- Working knowledge and experience in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and shop equipment& machinery.
- Working knowledge of computers and possess the ability to perform computer-based functions as required
- Working knowledge of vocational math skills and ability to read a variety of measuring devices, gauges, and diagrams as required
- Must consistently/successfully meet or exceed requirements of facility Maintenance Dept. schedules and goals and workloads.
- Ability to climb in overhead structures, beneath machines in tight places and in close quarters while performing analysis and repairs
- Must consistently demonstrate safe working practices, lockout-tagout and other safety programs.
- Must demonstrate successful knowledge, practice, understanding and compliance of all current work instructions
- Must demonstrate successful working levels of understanding and practices for mechanical and electrical needs of the plant
- Must have successfully completed the required courses of study to qualify for this position and must demonstrate ability to perform B level work.
