Pay Range:
This position will pay between $34.01/hour and $37.36/hour depending on experience.
Shift:
This position will have a 16-week rotation, working 8-hour shifts, 40 hours a week, as followed:
12 weeks, first shift, 7am - 3pm
2 weeks, second shift, 3pm - 11pm
2 weeks, third shift, 11pm - 7am
Summary
The Maintenance Technician needs to be a dependable self-starter with a desire to grow and succeed. Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Identifies parts for replacement and machines that need new parts and places orders as necessary. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others.
Essential Duties
Good skills in multi-craft operation with some limited cross-functional skills.
Capable of repairing/troubleshooting a wide range of mechanical equipment without supervision.
Capable of general motor control and instrumentation installations, conduit and panel installation and repair.
Moderately skilled in overall electrical equipment troubleshooting.
Familiar with all test equipment and common devices both mechanical and electrical.
Work safely and assume responsibility for safety of self and others. Follow all safety rules and policies.
Maintain excellent Housekeeping.
Attend and contribute to team meetings and training.
Communicate responsibly.
Strive for continuous improvement in areas of safety, quality and productivity.
Physical Demands
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing.
Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery.
Must be able to drive a forklift which requires sitting for long periods of time, as well as the ability to use your arms and legs to work the controls, brakes and steering wheel.
Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone

High school graduate or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years applying technical experience in an industrial setting
Able to use basic hand tools and tools required by your area of technical expertise
Safety consciousness with a thorough understanding of federal, state, local and plant-wide safety standards and concepts
Good communications skills: verbal, listening, reading and writing
Strong work ethic including attendance, safety and performance and a desire for self improvement in other technical fields
Motivated, responsible, enthusiastic, trustworthy and have a positive attitude
Physical capability and stamina to fit workplace demands
Flexible and open-minded

Evidence of continuing education in his/her technical field
Experience in a heavy manufacturing/continuous process/web handling industry
Experience with PLC, programming skills in ladder logic, digital and analog D.C. drives
Technical skills in single or closed loop (PID) process controllers
Knowledge of predictive maintenance including trend and vibration analysis
Willingness to seek assistance and collaborate with support personnel
Comfortable with PC-based office software and other common applications
