Overview:
The technician is responsible for general facility maintenance, preventive maintenance rounds, and hands-on support across mechanical, electrical, and physical plant tasks. This is not a licensed-trade role. The multicraft tech is the execution layer: thorough, reliable, and comfortable taking direction from subject matter experts. The physical environment includes:
- Outdoor containerized structures: Power Distribution Container, IT Container, Chiller Station Container, and Diesel Generator Container
- Alabama summer conditions: high heat and humidity during peak cooling season (April through September)
- Work in and around high-density electrical and mechanical equipment under supervision
- Confined and restricted spaces inside containers
Pay:
- $33/hr - $40/hr - based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Preventive maintenance rounds: inspecting, logging, and reporting equipment status
- Basic mechanical repairs: belts, bearings, filters, fittings
- Basic plumbing: pipe fittings, valve operation, minor leak repair
- Facility upkeep: doors, seals, enclosures, lighting, drainage
- Consumables management: filters, fluids, gaskets, and spare parts inventory
- Assisting with chilled water system tasks under lead direction
- Pump and motor support: basic inspection, fluid checks, visual fault identification
- Reading and following written maintenance procedures and checklists
- Basic HVAC familiarity: filter changes, coil inspection, airflow checks
- Assisting with electrical tasks under licensed lead direction
- Safe work practices around energized equipment: PPE awareness and LOTO support
- Basic electrical familiarization: reading panel labels, identifying breakers, logging readings
**Experience Requirements **
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on general maintenance or multicraft experience in a commercial, industrial, or facilities environment.
- Preferred: candidates with exposure to more than one trade discipline (for example: mechanical and electrical, or HVAC support and general facilities).
