Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift
Akron, NY
Monday-Friday | 3:00 PM -11:30 PM
Overtime may be required based on production needs.
Pay:
$33.81/hr base
+$0.50 shift differential
+$1.25/hr HAZMAT premium
About the Role
A well-established food manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced
Industrial Maintenance Technician
to support production equipment and facility systems. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure safe and reliable manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment
- Maintain production systems including
freezers, fillers, conveyors, compressors, boilers, and refrigeration systems
- Diagnose equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation
- Follow
safety, GMP, and OSHA standards
Electrical Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, drives, motors, and PLCs
- Test electrical systems for safety, continuity, and code compliance
- Install conduit, pull wire, and connect circuit breakers (480V and 110V)
- Identify electrical hazards and advise management on unsafe equipment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Post–high school technical education required
(trade school, apprenticeship, military technical training, or 2-year technical degree)
- Experience troubleshooting
electrical systems up to 480V
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Experience with mechanical systems, pumps, conveyors, and industrial equipment
- Comfortable using electrical meters and maintenance tools
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to
50 lbs
- Ability to climb, bend, and work at heights
- Ability to work in
cold and hot environments
- Ability to obtain
HAZMAT certification
