Job Description

Maintenance Technician — Night Shift

Direct Hire Opportunity | Milford, IN

Pro Services is partnering with a poultry processing facility in Milford, IN on a Direct Hire opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join their night shift maintenance team. This is a hands-on, multi-craft role supporting poultry and food processing equipment — with intermediate- to advanced-level skill in one trade and working competency across two or more of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and stainless-steel fabrication. Candidates will be required to rotate between the facility's two production plants on an as-needed basis, so flexibility across locations is a must.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  1. 3-5 years of experience as a multi-craft maintenance technician in an industrial or food/poultry processing environment.

  2. Working competency across two or more maintenance trades — electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, stainless-steel fabrication, or robotics.

  3. Strong mechanical background — hands-on rebuilding mechanical devices, conveyor systems, bearings, shafts/seals, and gearboxes.

  4. Electrical experience up through 480V three-phase systems, including motors, VFDs, relays, panels, and wiring.

  5. PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley Logix 5000) is a plus, as is robotics exposure.

  6. GMP experience required; working knowledge of (or ability to learn) USDA, OSHA, and HACCP guidelines.

  7. Willing and able to rotate between the facility's two plants as business needs require.

  8. A self-starter who can troubleshoot independently and knows when to loop in maintenance leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on poultry and food processing machinery (belts, chains, electrical cabinets, greasing, etc.).

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, 480V and 120V electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues as they arise.

  • Dismantle and reassemble machinery and equipment to complete necessary repairs.

  • Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance performed.

  • Research required parts and submit order requests.

  • Rotate between the facility's two production plants based on business need.

  • Interact professionally with all departments.

What You'll Bring

  • Must supply own basic industrial maintenance hand tools.

  • Basic electrical skills required (2-3 years), including 480V three-phase, motors, VFDs, relays, panels, wiring, and sensors; intermediate/advanced electrical, 24V DC, 110V-240V AC, and PLC troubleshooting are a plus.

  • Basic mechanical skills required (2-3 years), including rebuilding mechanical devices, conveyor systems, bearings, shafts/seals, and gearboxes.

  • Basic hydraulic and pneumatic skills required; intermediate/advanced experience a plus.

  • Welding experience is a plus — TIG preferred.

  • GMP experience required.

  • Basic computer skills (Windows, CMMS systems).

Schedule & Pay

Shift: Night shift

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 8-hour shifts

Overtime: Varies with business need; traditionally averages 40 hours/week

Pay: $30-36/hour base, plus $1/shift night differential

Physical Requirements & PPE

  • Occasionally lifts and carries 21-50 lbs (lifting 1/3-2/3 of shift, carrying less than 1/3); occasional pulling (11-20 lbs) and pushing (0-10 lbs).

  • Frequent standing (90%) and walking (50%); regular kneeling, crouching, squatting, and ladder/scaffold work (40%).
