Electromechanical Maintenance Technician

Claremont, NC | Night Shift

Prysmian is seeking an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician to support its Fiber Plant in Claremont, NC. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing a wide range of production and facility equipment in a highly automated manufacturing environment.

The technician will support both mechanical and electrical systems, including automated production equipment, process controls, motor control systems, electrical circuits, and related plant equipment. This position plays an important role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe, efficient plant operations.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating 2-2-3 schedule
• Every other weekend off

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and test mechanical, electrical, and electronic production equipment.
• Support automated machinery, process controls, motor control centers, HMIs, and computer-controlled systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical equipment failures and determine appropriate repair methods.
• Perform electrical installations, repairs, and testing on production and plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot logic, control circuits, motors, and related electrical systems.
• Perform mechanical repairs ranging from light equipment work to more involved industrial maintenance.
• Use hand tools, power tools, meters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Support equipment reliability, availability, quality, and production output.
• Assist maintenance leadership with equipment installations, repairs, spare-parts needs, and continuous improvement activities.
• Document maintenance activities accurately and communicate equipment issues to the appropriate team members.
• Participate in the plant’s preventive maintenance and pay-for-skill programs.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and safe work practices.
• Function as a Medical First Responder within the Fiber Plant.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and meet at least one of the following experience or education requirements:

Associate Degree in one of the following areas:

• Electrical Technology
• Electronics Technology
• Mechanical Technology

OR

Military Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of military service with training in:- Electrical Technology- Electronics Technology
  • Mechanical Technology

OR

Industrial Maintenance Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of on-the-job experience in:- Industrial electrical maintenance- Industrial electronics maintenance
  • Industrial mechanical maintenance

Additional Required Skills

• Ability to perform low- through high-voltage electrical work.
• Ability to install and wire complex electrical circuits.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical logic and control circuits.
• Ability to perform electrical installations, repairs, and testing on industrial equipment.
• Ability to perform light-to-heavy mechanical maintenance and repair work.
• Experience using basic hand tools, power tools, volt/ohm/amp meters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and electronic aptitude.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• SAP experience.
• Fiber manufacturing experience.

Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work around manufacturing equipment in environments that may include dust, oil, grease, heat, humidity, fumes, and noise.
• Ability to work in enclosed areas, on rooftops, and in areas that may occasionally be very hot or cold.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to time-sensitive maintenance needs.
