Pay & Schedule

• $80,000–$85,000/year (based on experience)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Set-Up Technician / Supervisor to support a medical and general manufacturing environment. This hands-on role combines injection molding setup, process optimization, troubleshooting, and floor leadership across a 4–5 press operation. Ideal candidates have experience in plastic injection molding, process control, and medical manufacturing (ISO 13485).

Key Responsibilities

Injection Molding Set-Up & Processing

• Perform mold changes, setups, startups, and teardowns
• Set and optimize injection molding process parameters within approved process windows
• Troubleshoot molding defects including flash, short shots, sinks, warpage, burns, and cosmetic defects
• Ensure proper setup of molds, resins, dryers, robots, and auxiliary equipment
• Support first article inspections (FAI) and process verification activities
• Maintain setup sheets, process documentation, and work instructions
• Assist with mold maintenance and preventative maintenance coordination

Medical & Quality Responsibilities

• Operate within ISO 13485 and regulated manufacturing standards
• Ensure adherence to validated molding processes and documentation
• Support nonconformance investigations and corrective actions (CAPA)
• Reinforce cleanroom practices, housekeeping, and contamination control

Supervisory & Floor Leadership

• Provide daily technical leadership and direction to molding operators
• Train team members on setup, startup, shutdown, and quality procedures
• Balance staffing and machine assignments across 4–5 injection molding presses
• Reinforce safety standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Communicate production priorities, shift handoffs, and technical issues

Qualifications

Required

• 2+ years of injection molding setup and processing experience
• Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and defect troubleshooting
• Ability to lead through technical expertise and hands-on support
• Comfortable working independently in a small team environment

Preferred

• Previous lead technician or supervisory experience
• Experience in** medical, cleanroom, or precision molding environments**
• Experience with automation, robotics, or molding automation systems
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 documentation and compliance requirements
