Position Summary:
Lead the design, build, development, qualification, and cost control of injection molding tooling. Coordinate with customers, engineering, production, tool room, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead mold/tooling design reviews, builds, repairs, and engineering changes.
Develop tooling concepts and coordinate project timelines and progress.
Manage mold sampling, qualification, first article inspection, and customer approvals.
Serve as the primary technical contact between the company and customers.
Support production, troubleshooting, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
Review mold designs using 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
Interpret customer drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation.
Track tooling projects against schedules, costs, and quoted requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering Technology, or related field.
1–3 years of relevant injection mold design/build experience or equivalent education and experience.
SolidWorks/3D CAD experience and GD&T knowledge.
Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of statistical methods and process capability.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
