Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for designing high-quality injection and compression molds from concept through production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mold design, tooling, machining, or manufacturing engineering and be proficient in 3D CAD software. Experience with VISI is highly preferred but not required.
Job Duties:
•Design injection and compression molds using 3D CAD software.
•Develop detailed mold assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs).
•Design cores, cavities, cooling systems, ejector systems, slides, lifters, and gating components.
•Review customer part models and evaluate manufacturability.
•Work closely with engineering, toolmakers, machinists, and production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements.
•Modify existing molds for engineering changes, repairs, and continuous improvement.
•Troubleshoot tooling issues and provide design solutions during mold build and production.
•Maintain accurate documentation, revisions, and engineering records.
•Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and production standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
•Experience designing injection and/or compression molds or related experience in: CNC Machining, Mold Making, Tool & Die
•Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Design, Or Product Engineering.
•Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mold construction.
•Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
•Experience with 3D CAD software.
•VISI software experience is a strong plus but not required.
•Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and mold manufacturing.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
