BAE Systems is looking for a qualified professional to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting sustainment and acquisition efforts for the Minuteman III (MM III) weapon system. The Minuteman III is a 1970s era weapon system and is scheduled to be retained as the United States military's prompt, global strike deterrent system through 2036.
The position is for a lead engineer who can:
Lead a team of engineers in conducting modeling and flight simulations of a ballistic weapon system.
Maintain and upgrade state of the art simulation capabilities by developing, integrating, and testing software.
Provide hands on training to junior team members by scoping tasks.
Maintain weapon system simulation technical baseline and documentation using configuration management processes.
Develop and execute simulation Verification & Validation plans in support of new hardware integration efforts.
Support operation, maintenance, testing of the system by conducting or coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering analysis (e.g. mass properties, aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and propulsion).
Develop and deliver regular status briefings to customer.

12+ years of experience including Six-Degrees-of-Freedom (6DoF) flight simulation, managing small teams of engineers, and delivering customers briefings is required.
Strong software coding skills, experience with flight dynamics including multi-disciplinary analysis (aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties, and flight controls) is strongly desired.
Previous experience in simulating aerospace vehicles.
Previous Experience with FORTRAN, ADA, C/C++.
