We are hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in Oklahoma City, OK to perform clinical laboratory testing on human tissue, blood, body fluids, and other specimens. The MLT will conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis in areas including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, serology, immunology, urinalysis, and microbiology.
This position is ideal for certified MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) professionals seeking a stable Monday–Friday schedule in a regulated clinical laboratory environment.
Perform phlebotomy using venipuncture, capillary, and arterial puncture techniques (age-specific as required)
Conduct laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, serology, immunology, urinalysis, and microbiology
Perform quality control (QC), proficiency testing, and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment
Operate and maintain clinical laboratory analyzers and instruments
Evaluate specimen integrity prior to analysis
Review and verify laboratory test results
Report laboratory results to medical staff as required
Follow CLIA, accreditation, regulatory agency, and OSHA standards
Adhere to bloodborne pathogen, infection control, chemical hygiene, fire, and electrical safety policies
Maintain laboratory supplies and notify Lab Director of low inventory
Process monthly laboratory supply orders
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment
Participate in clinic performance improvement initiatives
Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
Certification from an accredited organization such as:
ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
AMT (American Medical Technologists)
Ability to meet OSHA safety standards
Ability to perform phlebotomy when required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagram, and schedule instructions
Basic mathematical skills related to laboratory testing and health information
Must speak, read, and hear English
Laboratory environment with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of laboratory equipment
May lift up to 50 pounds (team lift or mechanical assistance as needed)
Requires close vision and attention to detail
Must maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Participate in clinic committees and quality improvement activities
Must consistently maintain professionalism with patients, staff, and visitors
This position is classified as OSHA Category – Laboratory Exposure due to regular exposure to blood and body fluids.
This is a safety-sensitive position. Medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this role.
