JOB SUMMARY |
|
The Mixing Mill Operator operates a blend mill, 2-roll mill and cantilever carousel batchoff conveyor. This position is responsible for following the job card to process rubber compound dropping from the mixer and onto the mill. The Mixer Mill Operators is also responsible for sizing the rubber on the strip mill and packaging product ready for use by the downstream process. This position will also cross-train on mixing and compounding to cover open positions as needed. |

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
- Follow all safety and quality procedures while starting up, operating or shutting down equipment.
- Work as a team member in conjunction with the Lead Molding/Mixing Operator and Compounding/Mixing positions.
- Maintain a clean workstation at all times.
- Follow compound instructions for the designated workstation to produce rubber compound to support downstream processes.
- Operate the blend/strip mills.
- Operate the batchoff conveyor and package rubber compound as specified in the compound instructions.
- Compile and provide daily production information to the Lead Molding/Mixing Operator.
- Report any Equipment/process/product abnormalities to the Lead Molding/Mixing Operator.
- Responsible for performing all tasks assigned following the directions of the Leas Molding/Mixing Operator.

SKILLS & ABILITIES |
|
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be detailed orientated and have excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Detail oriented with a systems and process approach to problem solving
- Basic math skills and ability to use measurement tools: calipers, gages, comparators, etc.
- Ability to learn new processes quickly.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS |
|
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- All job duties will be performed in accordance with all company safety policies.
- All job duties will be done to ensure that the product is made at the highest quality, the lowest cost, delivered on time and with world-class service.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ESSNTIAL TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB |
|
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. at any one time.
- Stand for extended periods of time up to 10 hours.
- Frequently walks, kneels, and stands
- Frequently communicates with other operators.
