The Opportunity

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a small woodworking manufacturing shop producing custom:

  • Handrails
  • Newel posts
  • Balusters

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve woodworking machinery
  • Set up and optimize saws, moulders, shapers, routers, sanders and other equipment
  • Identify equipment problems and perform or coordinate repairs

  • Reduce downtime, scrap and production costs
  • Develop standardized procedures for repeatable production
  • Work with customers, contractors and management when necessary
  • Help expand the product line and manufacturing capabilities
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and shop capacity
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized manufacturing environment

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Leadership or supervisory experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • A hands-on, “figure it out and get it done” attitude
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the operation
  • Good organizational and communication skills

A Unique Opportunity

This is not simply a maintenance job.

We are looking for someone who wants to become the key person responsible for building and growing the woodworking operation.

If you have the mechanical expertise to keep machinery running, the manufacturing experience to improve production, and the leadership ability to build a team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company.
