Job Overview:

We’re looking for an experienced

**MIG Welder/Fitter

**to join our manufacturing team. This role involves fabricating and assembling sheet metal components to precise engineering specifications. You’ll interpret blueprints, perform MIG welding on various metals, and ensure high-quality, visually sound weldments.

**Key Responsibilities

**

  • Perform MIG welding on mild and stainless steel components.

  • Set up and adjust welding equipment based on job requirements.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications.

  • Conduct fitting, alignment, and layout for assemblies.

  • Inspect welds for size, quality, and appearance; repair as needed.

  • Grind, buff, or finish surfaces to meet cosmetic and structural standards.

  • Operate safely under Lockout/Tagout and other shop safety procedures.

  • Work independently or in a small team to meet production goals.

**Skills and Qualifications

**

  • 1–2 years of MIG welding or metal fabrication experience preferred.

  • Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and measure accurately.

  • Proficient with flux core, shielded wire, and spray transfer methods.

  • Knowledge of torch cutting, arc gouging, and basic fitting.

  • Familiarity with AWS charts, steel tables, and welding symbols.

  • Ability to use standard tools (clamps, gauges, tape measure, etc.).

  • Basic math skills, including decimal-to-fraction conversion.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Adherence to all safety and quality requirements.

**Work Environment

**

  • Industrial shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, and metalworking conditions.

  • PPE such as welding helmets, gloves, and protective clothing required.

  • Safety awareness and compliance are essential.

**Technical Proficiency

**

  • MIG welding setup and operation for production.

  • Blueprint reading and weld inspection.

  • Safe use of grinders, torches, and fabrication tools.
