Principle Duties (includes, but may not be limited to):
Visually inspect all components prior to assembly for compliance to work order specifications, and for burrs, defects and cleanliness.
Calculate the cut length of iso-bend pipe to achieve the correct finish length and mark the cut-off points.
Secure iso-bend pipe and cut to length with pipe cutting tool.
Set-up pipe sever machine and cut pipe to length without cutting the liner.
Install the correct flange/stub end combination and weld pipe housing in accordance with manufacturing and customer supplied specifications.
Recheck overall spool length with allowance for liner thickness, and complete the inspection sheet.
Assemble and tack weld fitting and special products using a press or other appropriate tooling.
Weld fittings and special products complete in accordance with manufacturing and customer supplied specifications.
Perform all welding in the position as specified by the Procedure and welder qualification.
Set-up welders with correct filler wire and compressed gas at the proper pressure setting.
When required, assemble, tack and tig weld fittings in accordance with manufacturing procedures.
Use blueprint reading skills to interpret engineering or customer supplied drawings and specifications.
Use ability to read measuring instruments not limited to, but including tape measure, micrometers and callipers.
Verify protective shield and restricted area signs are in place before welding.
Perform material handling functions using hand trucks and carts.
Qualifications/Experience :
Must have high school education or equivalent.
Should have ASME Section IX MIG certification, or be able to obtain certification within a reasonable period of time.
Three or more years experience with carbon steel preferred.
Fabrication experience and the ability to work from blueprints and sketches is required.
Five or more years welding experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
