We have a fantastic position available for a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering and Technology team in Huntsville, AL.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks. You will guide reactive equipment repairs, providing hands-on support. You will also contribute to planning and construction projects by defining requirements and overseeing the project's progress. Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides input to infrastructure planning; completes studies; analyzes current conditions and future requirements; recommends capital improvements; gathers and analyzes data; and works with both internal and external customers in order to identify and assess alternatives and impacts

  • Develops routine conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the electrical phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds

  • Aligns electrical designs with customer requirements, building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices, and materials

  • Assists others to integrate the activities of multiple engineering disciplines, outside consultants and government agencies

  • Develops analysis to determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition-based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, etc.)

  • Ensures accuracy of drawing archives/libraries

  • Supports construction projects by providing input on vendor selection; reviews contractor proposals; interfaces with government/regulatory agencies

  • Prepares and presents project information to ensure compliance with applicable construction documents and jurisdictional requirements and to meet project objectives

  • Uses appropriate resources to produce project drawings, specifications, and permit application packages in accordance with project parameters

  • Translates customer requirements into design options with documents and estimates; identifies appropriate materials, equipment, and services by applying engineering principles and methodology

  • Collects customer requirements; assists in the creation of contract scope; participates in conceptual design by analyzing intended use/occupancy and desired aesthetics, code research, and the development of preliminary design elements

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.

  • 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting technical documents and/or drawings

  • 3+ years of experience working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment

  • 3+ years of experience working in an engineering role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with building and safety codes

  • 3+ years of experience with lean processes and initiatives

  • 3+ years of experience leading construction projects

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Experience working in a production environment

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $95,050 – $129,950
