Contingent upon contract award to BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems and subsequent task orders.
Seeking an Engineering Lead (EL) for a dynamic and diverse U.S. Intelligence Community
effort ensuring seamless execution of critical software and hardware systems. This position
requires broad knowledge of systems engineering, orbital mechanics, and satellite operations to
design and advance solutions to current Flight Safety challenges. The EL focuses on the quality
and currency of the techniques, procedures, and tools available to flight safety and mission
protection Engineering Analysis (EA) personnel to perform their jobs effectively.
As the Engineering Lead, you will apply broad knowledge of systems engineering, orbital mechanics,
and satellite operations to design and advance solutions to current Flight Safety challenges. Your
primary focus will be on ensuring the quality and currency of the techniques, procedures, and tools
available to flight safety and mission protection Engineering Analysis (EA) personnel.
The position will reside organizationally within the Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA)
Strategic Capabilities Unit which comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that
enables the successful delivery of high impact discriminating technologies for our customers’

What You’ll Do: - Leading and directing the development and implementation of engineering solutions to
enhance flight safety and mission protection. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate systems engineering, orbital
mechanics, and satellite operations expertise. - Analyzing and resolving complex engineering problems related to flight safety and mission
protection. - Developing and managing the training regime for EA personnel to ensure proficiency with
existing and nascent tools. - Providing technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and analysts.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant systems engineering processes, including vulnerability
analysis and orbit analysis. - Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Short Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Skills and Education
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active TS/SCI Polygraph security clearance is required.
- At least seven (7) years of experience in orbital mechanics, including collision avoidance and/or satellite operations analysis.
- At least three (3) years of experience in U.S. Intelligence Community systems engineering processes, including vulnerability analysis and/or orbit analysis.
- At least five (5) years of experience in the U.S. Intelligence Community.
- Relevant project management experience.
