Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Production and Aftermarket Shop Planning Lead to join our Business Systems team. The successful candidate will manage a team of planners responsible for ensuring efficient production and MRO planning, material management, and logistics within our organization. This role will play a critical part in supporting our Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process and managing shop planning and material logistics.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Team Management: Lead a team of planners responsible for scheduling, WIP release, in-process material management, and bill of material management within our ERP system (Oracle).
  2. Production Planning: Establish and communicate work cell targets and prioritization, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  3. Material Management: Manage material availability, critical shortage management, and ensure compliance with customer shipping requirements.
  4. Production Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules, including schedule recovery, to meet customer demand and business objectives.
  5. Oracle Master Data: Maintain accurate and up-to-date Oracle Master Data, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  6. Sales Status Tracking: Track current and anticipated sales status to inform production planning, material management and customer focused decisions.
  7. SIOP Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the SIOP process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.
  8. Shop Planning: Manage shop planning activities, including capacity planning, material planning, and production scheduling.
  9. MRO Material Forecasting and Supply Planning: Develop and manage MRO material forecasts to support aftermarket repairs and spares operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective supply of materials and components.
  10. Collaboration:  Support the broader Planning, Logistics and Operations team as needed.
  11. Effective Communication: Communicate effectively across multiple levels, including:
* Direct workforce: Provide clear guidance, expectations, and feedback to planners and other team members.
* Sector Leadership: Present SIOP plans, progress, and insights to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities.
* Cross-functional teams: Collaborate with other departments, such as production, logistics, and sales, to ensure alignment and effective execution.

Required Skills and Education

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • 12 or more years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field and a minimum of a high school diploma ,8 or more years with a Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in production planning, material management, or a related field, with a focus on ERP systems.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams and driving business results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to lead in a team-based manufacturing environment and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with SIOP processes and shop planning principles.

Preferred Skills and Education

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • 12 years of experience in production planning, material management, or a related field, with a focus on ERP systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Oracle ERP system certification or experience with other ERP systems.
  • Constraint based production scheduling experience
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
