Layout Technician

We are seeking a skilled Layout Technician to join our Metrology team, where you will play a critical role in ensuring our products meet exact specifications. Position Summary
As a Layout Technician, you will perform precise measurements and support quality control processes to maintain our commitment to excellence. Working closely with experienced professionals, you will apply your technical skills to contribute to dimensional inspections, equipment calibration, and laboratory testing, with opportunities to expand your expertise in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
· Execute dimensional measurements and complete layouts using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, hardness testers, and optical comparators, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
· Collaborating with team members to verify layouts and document results accurately.
· Conduct quality control assessments and dimensional layouts, interpreting technical drawings and specifications under minimal supervision.
· Operate and maintain measurement equipment, including optical comparators, and assist in troubleshooting discrepancies as needed.
· Perform gage calibration and maintain detailed tracking records, ensuring all instruments meet operational standards and timelines.
· Support laboratory testing procedures, such as metallurgical evaluations and contamination analysis, contributing to comprehensive quality assurance efforts.
· Participate in ongoing training to refine skills in quality control methodologies and adopt new measurement technologies as introduced.
Qualifications
Required:
· High School Diploma or equivalent, with at least 1-2 years of experience in a technical, manufacturing, or quality-related role.
· Understanding of measuring tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, and other hand measuring devices.
· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
· Intermediate computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office and data entry software.
· ability to learn new processes quickly and effectively using our system in PLEX and Excell software.
Preferred:
· Associate’s degree or technical certification in manufacturing, quality control, or a related field.
· Prior experience with gage calibration or quality assurance processes in a manufacturing setting.
· Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, AS9100) or basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications with a focus on accuracy.
