Job Overview:
The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Metals Procurement Specialist to work at our Mill Materials Management location. The Metals Procurement Specialist is responsible for procuring metals for processing and resale across various locations. Works with cross-functional departments to implement continuous improvement processes and provide excellent customer service. Ensures products and services meet the safety, financial, quality and efficiency requirements of the business units. This position will support the Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin scrap markets.
Salary: $100,000+ (based on experience)

Responsibilities
The Metals Procurement Specialist will:
- Generates purchasing prices of ferrous and nonferrous metals ensuring profitability
- Partners with internal personnel to understand customer needs, intended product use, and refine specifications for product and service purchases
- Assists with sourcing, qualifying, and evaluating suppliers
- Manages approved supply base and creates purchase orders in Oracle
- Facilitates the quotation process
- Analyzes requests for quotes
- Negotiates payment terms and conditions
- Assists with the resolution of invoicing discrepancies
- Reviews performance indicators for cost reduction opportunities
- Ensures supplier compliance with corporate and customer performance standards
- Assists Purchasing Agent with more complex contract negotiations
- Qualifies new suppliers, on-boards/transitions suppliers to iSupplier
- Supports automation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum of 2-4 years metals industry or equivalent experience
- Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Oracle or ERP system knowledge a plus
- Knowledge of basic office equipment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel
- Excellent customer service skills
- Valid Driver’s License Required
