Based in our Boulder, Colorado location, you will conduct materials analysis for internal and external customers and provide material expertise in written and verbal forms. Conduct product failure analysis and determine product compatibility with process fluids. Apply knowledge from product failure analysis as input in product design activities.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Work collaboratively with experienced Metallurgists in the following areas:
Support the research tasks for aspects of soldering, brazing and welding materials or processes.
Support manufacturing with root cause analysis of welding, brazing, and cast parts, documenting outcomes and research findings.
Understand material compatibility recommendations for internal and external customers regarding use of product with specific fluid(s).

For This Role, You Will Need:
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must have strong technical background in appropriate engineering field, and the interest and ability to pursue engineering and development projects.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Applied physical metallurgy lab or research experience.
Technical experience operating any of the following; Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR).
Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, corrosion mitigation, and materials compatibility.
Background or project experience in casting, welding and brazing, or manufacturing of wrought products.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $56,000-80,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
