Salary Range:    $19.00 - $20.00 Hourly
Job Shift:    2nd shift

Description

Hours: Monday - Thursday; 3:30pm - 2:00am

Position Summary

 

The Punch Press Operator 1 will operate both the OBI machine and the Rollformer machine. In this role they will also assist other operators and production personnel, as needed.

 

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities

OBI and Rollformer Responsibilities:

  • Operates all material handling equipment both manual and powered.
  • Use gauges and measuring instruments; performs quality inspections on all parts and components.
  • Maintains accurate records.
  • Recognizes equipment malfunction and reports malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Maintains neat and orderly work areas and equipment.
  • Wears proper PPE at all times and adheres to all safety rules and expectations.
  • Performs mandatory inspections of the first piece of material produced, for all new jobs.
  • Conducts daily safety checks, tests equipment prior to running machines, and signs off on all required paperwork.
  • Reads and follows the instructions on the manufacturing order.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with measuring tools
  • Ability to read blueprints/drawings
  • Strong organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read job traveler and obtain correct product type and quantity to run
  • Must have general math skills
  • Proficiency using standard measuring equipment required
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull 40 pounds unassisted

 

Educational & Certification

  • Preferred minimum of two years experience operating production machines
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Prior experience working with pressing metals, preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.)
  • Formal technical training or education, a plus.
  • Minimum of six months maintenance experience required.
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have good small dexterity skills.
  • Must have general math skills.
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance disciplines
  • Basic computer and controls knowledge, motor drives, and PLCs
  • Basic electrical knowledge, voltage, and current phasing
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

 

Educational & Certification

               Preferred

  • Lock-Out/Tag-Out certification
  • Pass and maintain current industrial forklift & man lift certifications
  • Pass and maintain NFPA 70E
  • Pass and maintain First Aid/CPR certification
  • Electrical certifications for 240V and 480V

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.  The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
