We are hiring an experienced Metal Quality Inspector for a well-established manufacturing company in Minneapolis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional who is confident with precision measuring equipment, blueprint reading, GD&T, and inspection of manufactured metal components.
You'll play an important role in ensuring products meet customer specifications and quality standards while working closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Toolroom teams.
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
Inspect metal parts and components for dimensional and quality requirements
Use micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, pin gauges, fixtures, and vision systems
Read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T
Accurately document inspection results
Identify and communicate defects and nonconforming product
Determine when quality issues need to be stopped, contained, or escalated
Work with manufacturing teams to identify and resolve quality concerns
Assist with reinspection, containment, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions
Help maintain strong inspection and quality standards throughout production
4+ years of quality or manufacturing inspection experience
Strong experience with precision measuring tools
Ability to confidently read and interpret blueprints
Working knowledge of GD&T
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to identify defects and nonconforming product
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Strong communication and documentation skills
Reliable attendance and a commitment to quality and safety
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
Metal stamping or precision manufacturing
CMMs, vision systems, or optical comparators
Advanced GD&T
First Article Inspection
PPAP
Corrective actions
ISO, aerospace, medical, or other regulated manufacturing environments
Training or mentoring other inspectors
$27–$34/hour, depending on experience
Monday–Thursday schedule
Three-day weekends
Consistent 1st-shift hours
