Job Summary: Lead the activities of an assigned group of production people focused on achieving daily objectives in alignment with Novae’s Mission and Manufacturing Goals, enabling those people to be great at what they do and proud of what they have done.

Essential Job Duties

  • Promote a safe working environment by:
    1. Modeling safe work methods.
    2. Requiring safe work practices and regularly discussing safety as a priority.
    3. Identifying and correcting unsafe habits.
    4. Inspecting, auditing, recording and continually pursuing improved safety for all people in the work area.
  • Exhibit cleanliness and organization in the work area through:
    1. Modeling cleanliness and organization in the work.
    2. Participation in the creation of cleanliness and organization standards for the work area.
    3. Maintenance of established standards of cleanliness and organization for the work area.
    4. Inspecting area for non-compliance and involving appropriate teammates for return to standard.
  • Consistently meet and exceed quality expectations by:
    1. Leading inspection of every product completed in work area of responsibility.
    2. Conducting daily audits of the inspection process.
    3. Addressing the findings of all inspections and audits with the team, considering Novae’s Guiding Questions.
    4. Demonstrating and ensuring proper handling of all scrap and parts substitutions.
    5. Confirming proper recording of any quality findings according to established process standards.
  • Demonstrate responsibility for work area productivity through:
    1. Understanding of and commitment to daily productivity targets.
    2. Coaching and encouragement of team members.
    3. Consistent awareness of tool, parts and material needs.
    4. Collaboration with area personnel to achieve goals.
    5. Ongoing review of team results to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support the development of people through:
    1. Prioritizing training of the individual person.
    2. Providing on-going performance feedback to team members, including recognition of a job well done.
    3. Building the team through coaching and mentorship.
  • Lead daily huddles to review team progress and pursue continuous improvement.
  • Ensure regular and ongoing communication with supervision, recommending celebrations and escalating concerns.
  • Apply problem solving skills to determine root cause, make recommendations, and elevate needs quickly in pursuit of rapid resolution. 
  • Provide servant leadership in alignment with Novae’s Guiding Questions.
