Job Overview:

If you are a Paint Operator (1st Shift) looking for an opportunity to grow and develop professionally, Emerson Discrete Automation has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Sandusky, MI, you will use procedures and specifications to properly process components through the paint process which include the automatic paint line, spray painting, and sandblasting rework.
 
Typical working schedule Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. (4x10’s) to include scheduled overtime on Friday’s and some weekends.  
 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • General processing procedures per the routing specifications.
  • Basic blueprint reading and understanding of BOM’s and Routers.
  • Identify visual defects and contain suspect product.
  • Perform changeover of tools, fixtures and test setups.
  • Reports to Paint/Assembly Supervisor and has contact with internal customers and co-workers.
  • Observe established safe working, housekeeping procedures and promptly correct and / or notify supervisor of any hazardous situations.
  • All supplemental duties, responsibilities, or non-essential requirements as assigned.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • High school diploma/GED or 2 years of experience is required.
  • No experience required with high school diploma/GED; 1 year of experience is preferred.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, Teamwork.
  • While performing duties may be required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist or lift, up to 45 pounds.
  • May be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week based on departmental needs.
  • Perform work duties in office and manufacturing environment.
  • May be exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements including but not limited to noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease.
  • PPE’s may be required including safety glasses, ear plugs and safety shoes in specified areas of the plant.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

 
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • One year of experience in a paint finishing process.
