Position Summary:
The Metal Fabricator 1 is responsible for producing metal parts for production product that include such activities as cutting, grinding, and polishing.
Responsibilities:

- Perform metal working operations such as, but not limited to:
- Cutting and forming
- Drilling and tapping
- Grinding and de-burring
- Polishing
- Sawing
- Performs layout work/fabrication of metal parts
- Operate hand or pedestal grinders to trim and finish weldments, castings, and finishes to specifications through the appropriate grinding wheels and pressure.
- Buff and polish parts and able to apply compounds as needed
- Ability to learn and proficiently operate a variety of metal working machinery (such as plate shear, press break laser, and equipment including hand tools.
- Set up, adjust, and operate simple to complex equipment, perform quality checks, and equipment calibrations.
- Arranges and prioritize work by dates on production orders.
- Perform preventive maintenance on metal fabrication machinery
- Perform daily housekeeping duties
- Keeps work area clean and free of all hazards
- Regular attendance is required
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education
- One to three years of related work experience and/or training.
- High school diploma or GED required
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hearing protection and mask or respirators are provided for where required.
Computer Skills:
Some machines require basic computer skills.

- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
