Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Stamps, punches, deburrs, rolls, and bends steel using various fabrication equipment to fabricate, form, and assemble sheet metal products, following standardized procedures and methods.

Here are the machines used for this job:

- Lathe

- Brake press

- Whitney

- Tube bender

- Turret

- Drill press

- Various saws

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Programs and operates CNC punch, press brake, and other fabricating equipment to complete production runs

• Lays out sheet stock to minimize scrap and drop-offs for shearing operations

• Reads layout drawings, blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings

• Inspect work using scales, squares, fixed gauges, or templates to ensure conformance to drawings during in-process and final inspections

• Operate forklift to obtain and return sheet stock to storage racks

• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision

• Must have good basic math skills

• Experience in operation of sheet metal fabricating equipment

• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and assembly functions

• Must be able to follow a job router

• Able to understand blueprints and use basic measuring instruments

• Must be able to become forklift certified

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. without assistance.

• Must be able to sit and/or stand for up to 5 hours at a time.

• Must be able to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, climb, and walk.

• Stand, walk, sit, and bend for extended periods of time.

• Deburring Experience
• Blueprint Reading
