POSITION: Sheetmetal Programmer/Metal Fabrication Programmer
SUMMARY: Programmer and scheduler for sheetmetal fabrication process. Backup resource to the Production Manager in Sheetmetal.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program Trumpf Punch and Brakes in accordance with the schedule, specifications and quality requirements.
- Create BOMs for sheetmetal components in business software.
- Support operators and Production Manager for the sheetmetal operation as necessary to keep product moving through the sheetmetal fabrication process.
- Follow instructions assigned by the engineers & managers.
- Follow procedures in accordance with the Quality System.
- Schedule work load based on customer orders.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly.
- Troubleshoot for causes of defective products.
- Assist in identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Follow and enforce manufacturing safety guidelines. Identify and eliminate safety hazards.
- Support the Quality System and ISO9001:2008 Registration.
- Attends production/custom meetings as requested.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Assists the scheduler with planning/scheduling as needed and provide back up the sourcing manager as required
- Backup for the Production Manager in sheetmetal.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in a fast paced production environment with multiple product changes during the shift.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Communication skills.
- Use Solidworks and Geist business software as needed.
- Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Hand/eye coordination.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical associate’s degree preferred.
- Completion of Trumpf Punch Programming and Operating Training preferred.
- Three to five years technical manufacturing experience preferred.
