Medium / Light Duty Diesel Technician – Mobile Role at Transwest Mobile Truck Repair

What You'll Do

• Travel to customer locations throughout the Converse / San Antonio area to perform maintenance and repairs on light and medium duty vehicles, including gas and diesel-powered pickup trucks (Ford F-250, F-350, and similar platforms).
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues in the field using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
• Execute both scheduled and unscheduled mobile repairs with minimal supervision, ensuring safety and performance standards.
• Communicate clearly with customers on-site, providing detailed service recommendations and updates.
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities.
• Stay current on industry advancements and apply expertise to improve repair processes.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience repairing light to medium duty gas and diesel vehicles.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel pickup trucks, including Ford Power Stroke engines (6.7L, 6.0L, 7.3L), is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of automotive electrical systems, fuel systems, and general drivetrain components.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in the field under pressure.
• Ability to provide own tools suitable for the job.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required — you'll be operating a company-provided service vehicle daily.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varied outdoor and roadside environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE certifications (A-series automotive or L1 Advanced Engine Performance).
• Ford-specific training or dealership experience is a strong plus.
• Prior field service or mobile repair experience.
• Strong communication and customer service skills — you'll be the face of Transwest at every job site.
