Job Overview:

OBGYN Medical Coder

leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced OB/GYN Coder to support accurate, compliant, and timely coding for women’s health services. This position will review clinical documentation, assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes, and help ensure clean claims and accurate reimbursement.

Responsibilities

  • Code OB/GYN professional-fee and/or facility services using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
  • Review documentation for prenatal, antepartum, delivery, postpartum, gynecologic, and surgical encounters.
  • Apply appropriate E/M levels, modifiers, global maternity guidelines, and payer requirements.
  • Review charge capture, claim edits, and coding-related denials.
  • Identify documentation gaps and submit provider queries when clarification is needed.
  • Maintain productivity, accuracy, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with providers, billing teams, revenue integrity, and other coding professionals.
  • Stay current with CMS, AMA, payer, and organizational coding updates.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience coding OB/GYN or women’s health services.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, E/M, modifiers, and coding guidelines.
  • Experience with obstetric and gynecologic procedures preferred.
  • Professional-fee, facility, or hospital coding experience, depending on assigned workflow.
  • Must have EPIC experience
  • CPC, COBGC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or related certification preferred.
  • Experience with Epic or another healthcare billing/EHR system preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet accuracy and productivity expectations.
