Medical Billing Supervisor

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00/hour (DOE)

Hours: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location: Shreveport, LA 71115

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking an experienced Medical Billing Supervisor for a growing healthcare organization in Shreveport. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the medical billing department while ensuring accurate claims processing, timely reimbursements, and efficient accounts receivable management. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive medical billing experience, and a thorough understanding of insurance reimbursement and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor medical billing specialists and support staff.
• Oversee the entire revenue cycle, from claim submission through payment collection.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and implement strategies to improve collections and reduce days in AR.
• Investigate and resolve insurance claim denials while coordinating appeals and claim resubmissions.
• Ensure claims are processed accurately and in compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelines.
• Conduct audits of billing records and maintain accurate documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and increase billing efficiency.
• Collaborate with providers, coders, and revenue cycle leadership to improve reimbursement and reduce claim rejections.
• Generate reports and track key performance indicators, including denial rates, collection rates, and accounts receivable metrics.
• Assist with patient billing inquiries and support positive customer service experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience required.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred, but not required.
• Medical Billing and Coding certification is a plus.
• Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical billing software.
• Strong understanding of insurance reimbursement processes and payer guidelines.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
