Industrial Maintenance Electrician / Controls Technician

Position Summary

This position provides electrical and controls support within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of automated production equipment, electrical systems, and machinery to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency. The role also supports new equipment installations, process improvements, and preventive maintenance activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures while promoting a culture of workplace safety.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated manufacturing equipment, electro-mechanical systems, and production machinery.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic circuits, identifying and correcting equipment faults.
  • Work with AC/DC motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and related control systems.
  • Read, interpret, and utilize electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by assisting with process enhancements and equipment upgrades.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues effectively with production and engineering teams.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical degree, certification, or equivalent training in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automated systems preferred.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with robotics, sensors, vision systems, and automated machinery is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
