Job Overview:

JENNMAR is seeking a Mechanical/Research & Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in designing and developing innovative products, particularly related to steel manufacturing and ground control solutions. The successful candidate will conduct quality testing, enhance existing designs, and play a key role in product development. They will work closely with our Research & Development team, contributing to lab testing, field installations, and training. Additionally, this position involves collaboration with customers, manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and government agencies to ensure seamless product implementation and compliance. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for those who thrive on innovation and technical challenges.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Equivalent Relevant Discipline (Mechanical or Material Science Engineering), Preferred
  • Three-Five (3-5) Years Relevant Experience, A Plus
  • AutoCAD, FEA, 3D Modeling, and Drafting Experience, Preferred

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  2. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, with a focus on mining and ground control products.
  3. Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and product design/application.
  4. Demonstrated technical acumen, with the ability to analyze data and make informed, confident technical decisions.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective documentation, presentation, and report writing.
  6. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong organizational skills.
  7. Strong team collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and contribute effectively in group settings.
  8. Adaptability and eagerness to learn quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  9. Reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to adjust work schedules as needed, including up to 25% domestic and/or international travel.

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Perform engineering tasks promptly, with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Apply engineering principles to perform accurate calculations and analyses.
  • Assist with field and analytical evaluations of product designs
  • Develop and update engineering and manufacturing drawings, specifications, and material requirements.
  • Support the creation of technical documents, including design reports, technical letters, and customer deliverables.
  • Participate in vendor and customer meetings and presentations
  • Conduct site visits to underground mines or tunnels, evaluate product performance, identify issues, and recommend corrective action if appropriate
  • Review and address drawing revisions to streamline the manufacturing process.
  • Review customer orders to determine engineering needs and ensure timely support
  • Approve engineering records for manufacturing release
  • Assist in quality audits and testing of products as assigned
  • Edit and approve content for technical publications
  • Utilize and apply engineering software tools and systems
