Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM | Overtime Available

Pay: $20-$25/hour DOE

About the Job

A company in the Azle area is hiring a Mechanical Technician to work in their repair shop. This position involves tearing down, repairing, and rebuilding electric motors and pumps used in commercial, municipal, irrigation, and pool applications.

The equipment comes into the shop from customers. Your job is to inspect it, replace worn parts, reassemble it, test it, and get it ready to go back out. You'll use hand tools, power tools, impacts, drills, and an oxy-fuel torch throughout the day. Some projects may also include sandblasting.

This is a good opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical background or someone coming out of trade school looking to build a career.

Responsibilities

• Tear down and rebuild electric motors and pumps

• Inspect equipment and replace worn mechanical components

• Replace bearings, seals, shafts, and other parts

• Use hand tools, impacts, drills, grinders, and measuring tools

• Use an oxy-fuel cutting torch

• Test equipment after repairs

• Sandblast parts when needed

• Keep the shop clean and organized

• Assist with other mechanical shop projects

Requirements

• Mechanical background or trade school training

• Must have your own basic hand tools and toolbox

• Experience using hand and power tools

• Must know how to use an oxy-fuel cutting torch

• Able to lift equipment and parts throughout the day

• Steel-toed boots required

• All other PPE is provided
