Job Description

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Position is first shift on 4/10 schedule (Monday-Thursday)

Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. This would also include preparing the surfaces of parts, assemblies, and finished products by cleaning, stripping, abrading, sanding, masking and stenciling. Selects and mixes finishing materials.

Also performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components.  Fabricates and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Assists with analyzing data and recommending modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications. Works from process sheets, diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools and jigs.

Required Skills and Education

  • Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces or current drilling member of a Reserve/Guard component with a service-connected injury 
  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 1 year work experience with Electro/Mechanical assembly 
  • Must be able to lift 20-30lbs.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience following processes and written instructions
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain SAP/SAR Clearance

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Lean Manufacturing Experience
  • Soldering Experience
  • Overseas operational deployment experience
  • Specialized or professional development schools 

Typical Education and Experience

Typically a High School Diploma and 1 year work experience or equivalent experience
