Job Overview:
Purpose
This position provides mechanical and production engineering support for development and fabrication of current production products. In general, as a member of an integrated product team, you will be providing mechanical engineering support to manufacturing, investigating and solving design and manufacturing issues.
Essential Job Functions
- Resolve daily issues that may arise in production and provide valuable technical expertise to area operators
- Support the Production floor to address design issues and part substitutions.
- Work on design and manufacturability issues including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Develop design solutions using 3D CAD.
- Setup part numbers, create and update BOMs and other SAP data entry.
- Provide direction to technicians, welders, mechanics, and inspectors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Physical Demands:
- Perform stationary work 50% of the time using a computer and applicable office equipment
- Perform work on the production floor 50% of the time – observing and interacting with various departments
Education/Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3D CAD Software experience - Solid Edge preferred
- Experience creating Bill of Materials (BOM), routings and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processing
- Ability to handle high work load and manage multiple projects
- Proven ability to analyze and troubleshoot production issues in a fast paced environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic hands-on engineering experience in fabrication/assembly environment
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred
- Experience working with welded construction (weldments) symbols, procedures, and specifications
