T&B Tube Company currently has a job opening for an EXPERIENCED Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team in the Miller area of Gary, IN.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be to maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. You must possess excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics, as they are crucial to this role. The ideal candidate will put safety first at all times, has the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and conduct preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications.

This is a full-time position with opportunities for career growth and advancement and offers excellent benefits. 9-hour shifts Monday-Friday. Our current opening is on 2nd shift, 1PM-10PM. Open positions, including 1st shift are offered internally as they become available.

T&B Tube specializes in manufacturing cut to length steel tube for a variety of applications and customers that include point of purchase displays, outdoor products, office and classroom furniture, retail displays, tube fabricators, and various other OEMs. Our four tube mills, four high speed recut machines, and two precision tube lasers enable us to deliver steel tube quickly and reliably. We are a family owned and operated company that have been in business for over 40 years.

Qualifications

Experience and Education

• High School Diploma, or equivalent is required.
• 3-5 years of relative experience working with and maintaining mechanical components in an industrial environment. 

Physical requirements 

• Exposure to loud noise and ability to work in changing environmental conditions, such as hot or cold weather
• Working in proximity to physical hazards, such as moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, overhead cranes and electrical current
• Standing/walking up to 9 hours per shift
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, etc.
• Bend, reach, kneel and lay on back
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations.
