Position Summary:
AtWork Conroe is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Installation & Service Technician to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of conveyor systems, sortation systems, warehouse automation equipment, and industrial machinery across customer sites in the United States.
The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read engineering drawings, and hands-on experience in equipment installation, assembly, troubleshooting, and field service activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble, align, and commission industrial automation equipment and conveyor systems.
- Read and interpret:
- Perform mechanical assembly and sub-assembly of equipment according to engineering documentation.
- Conduct machine startup, testing, commissioning, and operational verification.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues during installation and operation.
- Repair, adjust, replace, and maintain mechanical components as required.
- Support preventive maintenance and emergency service activities.
- Verify installation quality, dimensions, alignments, and mechanical tolerances.
- Coordinate with electrical technicians, engineers, project managers, and customer representatives.
- Complete service reports, installation documentation, and daily progress reports.
- Follow all company safety procedures, customer site requirements, and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company assets in proper working condition.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, Technical School, ITI, Diploma, Associate Degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and installation layouts.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including:
- Hands-on experience and good working knowledge of industrial installation and assembly tools including laser alignment and laser marking tools, drilling machines, smart torque tools, smart power tools, impact tools, hand tools, precision measuring instruments, levelling and alignment equipment, and other mechanical installation tools used for conveyor systems, automation equipment, and industrial machinery assembly.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Basic computer and reporting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in:
Forklift, Scissor Lift, Boom Lift, or OSHA Certifications are a plus.
Experience working on customer project sites and industrial facilities.
Travel Requirement: Up to 50%–70% Travel Across the United States
Physical Requirements:
The employee must be able to perform the following duties, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
- Stand, walk, kneel, crouch, climb, and work for extended periods.
- Work at heights using ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.
- Work in warehouse, manufacturing, and construction environments.
- Perform tasks in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Work Authorization:

Valid Driver's License:
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are preferred due to frequent travel requirements.
