1. Basic Job Function Act as a technical resource and engineering lead for our project execution team (both in the office and at the site), with responsibility for the specification and selection of mechanical equipment used on Air Cooled Steam Condensers for power plants.
2. Required Skills
• Sound knowledge of equipment and process design, fluid mechanics, heat transfer and control & instrumentation.
• Familiarity with design and selection of equipment such as fans, gearboxes, pumps, vacuum pumps, steam ejectors, electric motors or other similar equipment in the power or process industry.
• Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, drawings, and documents related to engineering and construction.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Passion for product improvement combined with in-depth technical expertise.
• Great attention to detail and the ability to work collectively with a project team.
3. Education & Experience
• BS or preferably an MS in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
• 2+ years of experience in a similar engineering role
4. Essential functions and responsibilities
• Integrate into existing multi-disciplinary team designing state-of-the-art air-cooled condensers for power plants worldwide.
• Review and verify compliance with project technical specifications.
• Produce equipment data sheets and technical specifications for inclusion in vendor inquiry packages.
• Perform technical bid evaluation to decide on final vendor selection.
• Review, approve and control vendor supplied engineering documents and drawings relating to equipment packages.
• Coordinate timely replies to equipment engineering related inquiries from clients and vendors.
• Support Evapco site erection and commissioning teams.
• Perform equipment inspections at vendor fabrication facilities.
• Perform equipment performance checks at the site.
• Attend technical meetings with clients & vendors as required.
• Generate and review key engineering deliverables such as P&ID’s, Equipment and Installation specifications, Process functional descriptions, Utility consumption, Instrument, and Equipment lists, etc.
