We are looking for a 2025 Spring Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with Managers and co-workers in formal and informal setting
- Develop mechanical product designs and processes for flow control devices
- Other duties as assigned
- Basic experience with modeling/drafting software
- Unit build support and provide general assistance to senior technicians
- Conduct Structural Tests and document results
- Specification Development
- Conduct basic calculations and lay outs
- Gain exposure to manufacturing and operations through new product development and assist with manufacturing-engineering troubleshooting efforts
- Takes direction from senior system architects in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives
- Product Design
- Interface with members of the Plant Engineering Group and other manufacturing support groups on a daily basis
- Work with the group’s Drafting Technician to create or modify Corning design drawings
- Evaluates design components of existing LiveTV installations and recommends product/installation improvement
- Generates electronics production drawings.
Desired Experience
- Experience with CAD software, preferably Solidworks
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to perform work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Must be able to work full-time during term
- Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) for documentation of test results
- Able to independently lead small projects with limited scope
- Technical curiosity
- Experience with 3D modeling/drafting, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Ability to interact with manufacturing personnel and staff
- Sound problem solving and decision-making skills.
Education/Training Required:
- High School Diploma
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree Program for the Winter/Spring 2024-2025 school year.
- Reside in the Cleveland, Ohio Metropolitan Area
- Rising Junior or Senior BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 3.5 or higher GPA preferred.
