This is a Summer 2025 position at The Techs in Pittsburgh.
You will be encouraged to immerse yourself in plant processes and share your ideas and suggestions throughout your internship
Assist other engineers in on-going projects utilizing engineering practices
Collect field data and perform analyses as needed to support assigned projects and share findings with operation and maintenance personnel
Work with operation and maintenance personnel to generate feedback and ideas for new and on-going projects that will directly affect production
Participate in day-to-day engineering activities in a fast paced and varied environment
Assist with fixture and tooling designs to improve ergonomics and safety in the workplace utilizing AutoCAD or SolidWorks to generate models and detailed drawings
Assist with plant layout designs for new and existing production equipment using AutoCAD and field surveying tools
Learn about the connection between operations, maintenance, quality, and safety departments and their rule in all plant engineering projects
Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
Candidates should be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Completed at least their freshman year of study
Preferred GPA of at least 2.7
AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience
Detail and assembly drawing experience
Determined and self-driven to learn in a live industrial facility
Willingness to work in both an office and an unconditioned industrial plant environment
Willingness to work extended hours when available to experience on-going projects
