Powell is dedicated to the future growth and talent of our company.  We offer internship opportunities to college students through a 10 week internship program. Our interns receive hands on experience, training and the opportunity to work on a project in their specific area of study. 

The Research and Development Engineering internship will be focused on optimizing dielectrics of a conductor in a sealed container. Ideal applicants will be pursuing a degree in Mechanical/Power Engineering.

Project Details:

• Intern would evaluate conductors in a sealed container to determine gas contamination levels as well how contamination affects dielectric properties. 
• Intern would design and procure sealed container and set up test plan. 
• Intern would run FEA to make predictions of tests. 
• Intern would collect results and report on optimized solutions.

Job Requirements:

A successful intern at Powell will have the following characteristics:

• Currently pursuing a 4 year degree from an accredited institution
• Rising Junior or Senior level students continuing their studies in the fall semester
• Good academic standing; minimum 3.0 GPA
• Team-player, self-starter, effective communicator, & dependable
• Possess multi-tasking abilities and strong inter-personal skills.
• FEA experience a bonus
