Position Summary
The Engineering Intern will directly support engineering and manufacturing operations by contributing to the design, development, and continuous improvement of tools, equipment, and production processes. This role provides hands-on experience applying engineering principles to real-world challenges that improve product quality, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.Job Description
Support engineering staff in the design and development of tools, fixtures, gages, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
Create and maintain engineering specifications, technical documentation, and detailed drawings required for production operations.
Produce accurate drawings including required dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.
Utilize 3D CAD software to develop component and assembly models and maintain design records.
Collaborate with manufacturing associates to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in workflows and systems.
Maintain drawings, product structures, and design standards using modern engineering methods and configuration control practices.
Provide engineering support to logistics and installation teams to ensure successful customer implementation.
Contribute improvement recommendations to manufacturing and assembly processes.
Perform additional engineering-related tasks as assigned.
Completed freshman year toward a Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to take on new technical challenges.
Programming experience or working knowledge of Python.
Exposure to or coursework involving Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Practical experience applying engineering theory in a production environment.
Exposure to full product lifecycle support — from design through manufacturing and customer implementation.
Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams.
