Hexcel is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Decatur, AL location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

• Assist in the management of the site Mechanical Integrity program and provide technical engineering support for equipment selection, performance, reliability, and repair.
• Evaluate, select, and order equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products.
• Oversee the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
• Scope and estimate capital projects as necessary to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Provide advice on the development of technical specifications. Ensure equipment conforms to local specifications and availability, interfacing with the chosen equipment supplier.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
• Knowledge of a range of engineering disciplines (instrumentation, electrical, civil, mechanical, and chemical)
• Oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities
• Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment
