Raytheon Mechanical Engineering leads in hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo, and combat system equipment. The ME Team uses state-of the-art tools, processes, technology, and RMD's Six Sigma principles. MPT’s capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation.
The Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems, hardware integration, cable & interconnections, as well as facility development, and site integration. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support.
The ADGE Department is looking for a full-time on-site Mechanical Engineer II, located in Tewksbury, MA to join the MCAD (Mechanical Computer-Aided Design) team.
This is an On-Site Role.
MCAD section performs preliminary design, detailed design, release to production, fabrication, assembly, and integration across multiple product lines.
What You Will Do
Perform mechanical design checks, and checking of documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.
Lead small mechanical or cross functional engineering team as the technical focal point within an integrated product team environment.
Support the factory and suppliers with product integration domestically.
Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.
Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast paced, team environment.
Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
Understand Raytheon Process and Procedures to be applied to our drawing release processes.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
Experience in mechanical design, development, material selection, and/or manufacturing process.
Experience in the tools of CAD, CREO, Raster, and/or similar tools.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience in the tools of Mentor, Inventor, Firmware, and SolidWorks
Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000, ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.100
Experience in design, fabrication, and integration of electronic assemblies, shelter assemblies, power distribution equipment packaging, and rack systems.
ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) experience
Experience with Windchill PDM or similar product data management tool.
