Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a manufacturer in Valencia, PA, that designs and builds industrial machines. This is a small locally owned company of around 50 employees. The company is growing and looking for someone who can thrive and develop, and there is room for advancement.

This is a diverse role that provides technical support to customers and people in many departments. This person is part of a team that includes customer service/inside sales, a sales manager, a systems engineer, and a drafter. They will:

• Provide technical support to the customer service/sales team. Interact with customers, evaluate customer needs, explain products and make recommendations. Determine the requirements (equipment, materials, costs etc) needed for making the product. Create quotes, drawings and BOM.

• Design equipment, components and assemblies for manufacturing the product.

• Provide engineering support and troubleshooting expertise to installation, parts and service.

• Collaborate with other departments to come up with better solutions to customer and manufacturing needs. Contribute to process improvement and cost reduction.

Full time weekly work schedule, Monday- Thursday 10 hour daylight days. This person does NOT work on Fridays!

On site position in Valencia, PA, just off Route 8. This location is north of Pittsburgh: 20 minutes north of Allison Park, 17 minutes from Sarver or 12 minutes from Mars. It is possible that this person could structure their work to work from home up to one day per week, if desired.

Travel to trade shows, customer locations and vendors. Depending on business need, but is usually around 3-4 days per quarter. US travel with an international trip about every two years.

We are open to someone out of college, to a more experienced engineer. We are looking for someone with the technical skills, who can work well with a variety of people, including customers and the shop floor. The salary range is broad from 65-85K plus commission.

Qualifications

• A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree.
• Proficient in a 3D design software such as Inventor or SolidWorks and can generate BOM.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug screen.
