Job Overview:
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to bring custom machine designs from concept to production
- Designing and developing assemblies and detailed components using SolidWorks, and creating assembly and detail prints for release to purchasing and manufacturing
- Partner with inside and outside manufacturing resources to develop cost-effective components, and work with purchased component vendors to specify parts and obtain initial quotes for cost and delivery
- Collaborate with Controls Engineering to specify sensors, motors, and related components, and enter Bill of Material data into the ERP system
- Support field service teams in resolving customer issues on deployed equipment, and develop a thorough understanding of company workflow and how Engineering integrates with all departments
Requirements
- 3-4+ years of experience in custom machine and/or automation design
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is required, including part creation and assembly; experience with Sheetmetal and PDM is a plus
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as this role requires regular coordination across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and field service teams
