We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to aid in the design and creation of custom vacuum chambers and systems. The right person will have a firm understanding of machine design principles and engineering communications. Must have ability to manage several projects with skills in both mechanical and electrical industrial automation. Candidate must be adaptive to various project sizes. Projects vary from complex turn-key automation machines to simple cost-effective solutions. The right candidate must exhibit the ability to be an adaptive learner and pick up skills and expertise needed to be a successful engineer at LACO.

- Ability to manage large complex projects with skills in both mechanical and electrical industrial automation.
- Ability to be adaptive to various project sizes and types.
- Ability to create bill of materials on drawings and in ERP systems.
- Great communication skills with both customer and internal shop personnel
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting accuracy and decisiveness.
- Ability to see the big picture but also manage all the small details for various projects going on at the same time.
- Ability to work within deadlines and schedules.
- Collaborate closely with customers to ensure their requirements and timeline are kept.
- Experience with automated systems, sensors, digital I/O, etc.
Skills Required
- 3-D Drafting design using SolidWorks or comparable 3-D software package
- AutoCAD / Draft sight a plus
- 2-D prints for manufacturing and shop-use
- FEA
- Experience in pneumatic design and general industrial automation
- Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to read, understand and create electrical schematics a plus.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Skills experience 3-5 years in Mechanical Design and Engineering
Job Details
- Pay: $80,000 - $85,000 per year depending on experience
- Shift: Monday through Friday regular business hours with some flexibility in your start and stop times. As well as the ability to participate in our 9/80 work schedule which gives you every other Friday off.
