The Application Engineer supports Product Platforms and the Engineering team by providing detailed sales and system application support. This role guides Sales and internal Engineering on product design to meet customer needs and is directly involved in customized solution development — design proposals for quotations, solution verification, and drawing/draft preparation. It’s a strong entry-level engineering role with significant room for growth.

Receive design specification input from Engineered Product Specialists and review with Sales and/or customers — product requirements versus our capabilities.
Prepare detailed component, product, layout, and assembly drawings and schematics using SolidWorks and AutoCAD / DraftSight.
Analyze product and equipment specifications and performance requirements to develop designs producible with existing manufacturing facilities and methods.
Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for the product line(s) and update bills of materials.
Review challenges and problems with Engineering personnel; work to find solutions that meet customer requirements.
Locate design and application files related to required designs and make design modifications as appropriate.
Conduct design review meetings with Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance for special engineered products.
Initiate and write Test Requests, analyze results, and take appropriate action.
Over time, develop an expert-level understanding of assigned products.
Provide engineering support to the manufacturing shop floor as required.
Correct errors/omissions expeditiously and look for ways to reduce or eliminate recurring errors.
Support corrective-action investigation, analysis, and permanent corrective-action implementation.
Interpret regulatory codes such as UL, NEC, and NFPA.
Perform on-site inspections and support commissioning activities.

Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, or Engineering Technology, plus 3–5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2018 or newer) and SolidWorks is required.
Experience updating bills of materials and processing Engineering Change Orders.
Sound understanding of mobile electrification systems for industrial and/or commercial use.
Strong communication skills to document and discuss technical requirements with Sales and customers.
