Job Overview:

EHC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a Client in the Magnolia Area

Location: Magnolia, TX (Hybrid)

An established architecture, engineering, and construction organization is seeking a motivated and self-driven Mechanical Engineer to join a collaborative team. This position offers long-term career growth and the opportunity to participate in projects from initial design through construction completion, gaining valuable exposure to both engineering design and construction operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality construction documents and technical drawings for building mechanical systems.
  • Manage design projects, including quality control reviews and coordination throughout project lifecycles.
  • Participate in construction administration activities and provide support during project execution.
  • Monitor multiple projects simultaneously and provide technical and operational guidance.
  • Ensure design concepts are accurately translated into construction documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Conduct code reviews and maintain compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Travel to project sites within the United States as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience within an MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) environment.

  • Proficiency with BIM and drafting software, including AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.

  • Experience developing construction documents, blueprints, and piping/ductwork layouts for:- HVAC systems

    • Hydronic heating systems
    • Chilled water systems
    • Steam systems
    • Industrial plumbing systems
  • Ability to serve as Lead Mechanical Engineer on projects.

  • Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering principles, including:- Statics and dynamics

    • Mechanics of materials
    • Machine design
    • Fluid power fundamentals
    • Material selection
  • Experience providing construction support services.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills.

  • Working knowledge of applicable U.S. building codes and standards, including IMC, UMC, ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, ASHRAE 62.2, IPC, and IBC.

  • Practical field experience and/or construction support experience.

  • Project management experience.

  • Experience estimating mechanical system design efforts and costs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with alternative project delivery methods, including:- Design-Build

    • CMAR (Construction Manager at Risk)
    • CM/GC (Construction Manager/General Contractor)
    • EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction)
  • Experience developing project-level effort estimates for building mechanical design.

  • Experience estimating mechanical system installation costs.
